Clark's game seems like a natural fit for 3x3. Two of this year's 5x5 US team members, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, were on the gold medal winning 3x3 team in Tokyo in 2021. They used that success as a springboard to the national team. I wonder why Clark did not pursue that avenue as well.

Cam + Caitlin + ? would seem a pretty strong team

A pretty strong team that a LOT of TV viewers would want to watch

Agree, they would be fun to watch. But one of the big differences in 3x3 is the reduction in defensive help. In 5x5 you can hide defensive deficiencies. Every 3x3 player has to be able to defend. It's why Lexie and Cam have always been chosen. IMO, Caitlin really struggles defensively. I think she can pick it up over time, like Steph did, but right now she would get smoked.
