I have found that us old people typically overestimate the degree to which NIL can cause feelings of tension and jealousy within a team. I don’t think it’s accurate to say thay NiJa’s decision “has to be viewed by her teammates as the ultimate betrayal.” Some of her teammates may feel this way while others may genuinely be happy for their friend regardless of outcome.
