Even though I grew up in Southern California and rooted for all those teams, my brothers and I were all Giants fans.  Hated the Doyers.  Dad not around to exert any influence and a favorite uncle led the way.  He said, "The greatest ball player of all time is Willie Mays and he plays for the San Francisco Giants!"  Worked out great for me when I went to Stanford and moved to SF in 87.  Loved seeing Mays around the team and got to meet and greet him once.  A big loss for baseball fans everywhere.
Cheers to Willie,
Pete F.
