I recently flew out of state and a young lady with Stanford gear was right behind me. I asked her if she attended Stanford, and she said yes.
During our conversation, she mentioned that she was a scholarship athlete (for a smaller sport). I was surprised to hear that she didn't really like the culture at Stanford, and that once she finished school (she does intend to get her degree from Stanford), she would be moving elsewhere quickly.
Reminded me that the Bay Area is not for everyone despite being my favorite area to live.
