Process of elimination: Wouldn't be Big 10 or SEC, so likely obscure ACC and Big-12. Let's go with: 

Maryland, SMU, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Houston, Kansas State, and...just for grins...NC State.

Syracuse is correct.  One more from the ACC, one more from the Big 10.
