Pity the 16yo high school student: Should he study for his math test, or keep lifting weights and take the pills someone said would help? All he has to do is look good in high school sports to get the big bucks until he's old, like 21.
How will parents face the challenges? "We lived in poverty but we wanted big things for our little Jacky. That's why we slipped HGH into the cereal."
At the 20-year reunion: "Look at Sandra, she split a Nobel Prize with her co-worker at a very young age. But, remember Norm? He got more money than that before his eligibility was up. Poor Norm."
If this society didn't already seem to value show over education and progress, it seems to be tumbling down that hill right now.
(As I understand it, the $22M cap doesn't include what we call NIL at this time. Canady's NIL is not being paid by Texas Tech.)
