SJSU administration is caught between a rock and a hard place. They are beholden to the CA state government. There's probably a law or regulation requiring no discrimination against the trans community. So they can keep the guy on the WVB team. Sacramento will be happy, other teams on their schedule not so much. Or they can go against the law, regulation, or whatever and risk Gavin's revenge. Happy I'm well out of the CSU system.
