2. Yes, I know that the next actor rumored to play James Bond is Aaron-Taylor-Johnson. Idris Elba was rumored, but doesn't want to play the character. There's also one recent rumor that it might be an American, Aaron Stanford.

BTW, it's interesting to me that James Bond, the quintessential English spy has been played by so many non-English actors, including Connery (Scot), Brosnan (Irish), Lazenby (Australian), and Dalton (Welsh). Only Roger Moore and Daniel Craig are English. And American actors Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds were offered the part, and they had the good sense to turn it down. Eastwood would have been the second Bond after Connery (not including Niven's parodic Casino Royale).

I was factually incomplete. An American actor, John Gavin, was actually signed to play James Bond, after Lazenby's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. But Lazenby flopped so hard, they didn't want to use the unknown Gavin, so David Picker, head of UA, worked a deal with Connery to return. Gavin still got paid for the next two Bond movies.
