Great analysis Matt.  Do you have a prediction of which players we will lose to the portal after this season?

I don't. I've seen some murmuring it could be bad. Anything significant would be pretty damaging considering our lackluster recruiting and the difficulty of compensating via incoming transfers. We also have to worry about the NFL, which could take Bailey and/or Ayomanor. Bailey might find a transfer elsewhere an option as well, though he already stuck around one year when many thought he might transfer. Ayomanor strikes me as likely NFL partly because college, either at Stanford or elsewhere, is presumably less attractive than it would be for many as he's on a student visa and thus less able to avail himself of NIL money. I'd like to get sixth years for Rogers and/or McLaughlin but don't know if that's realistic. Wright, Edwards, Ford, Davis, Tabb, Blackburn, Rose, Leigber, Maikkula, Pale, Baklenko, Cisse, Mosley, and others are guys it would be good to avoid losing.

On one level I think any significant attrition would be very bad. On another things on the field and the recruiting trail are so bleak that it doesn't seem to matter too much, much more important that we address very fundamental things related to coaching, culture, and our systematic/structural attraction to recruits and transfers.
