That level of change may not be sufficient to make Stanford a winning team, but a refusal to make even that level of change tells us we remain in a situation no different than during the end of the Shaw years — a situation in which total failure is acceptable, and there is absolutely no accountability for it.Well...the end of the Shaw years followed the beginning of the Shaw years. He was also an alum that more or less didn't blame the decline on things on outside trends that now seem like impossible challenges. As with Haase I feel Stanford's loyalty will not be returned should Taylor start winning. If Taylor repeats the Haase pattern he will stay with Stanford until someone decides firing him is 4 or 5 years too late. If Taylor turns it around, he will be gone faster than players chasing sweet NIL deals from higher profile programs.
I am not sure Taylor can recruit HS players and I am even less confident Taylor can recruit top tier coordinators. I wish he would start with finding an OC so that he can outsource those QB talks after failed drives to someone that isn't expected to support the defense and special teams too.
