Not sure, but they probably weren't but should have been in 1981. That was the year SJS kicked Stanford's butt 28-6. Particularly embarrassing because Stanford had two of their all-time greats that year, John Elway and Darrin Nelson. Supposedly SJS coach Jack Elway just tore into Paul Wiggin after the game because of how poorly he felt his son was being coached.

And it may have been the same two years later ('83), Wiggin's swan-song season. I suffered through both games and both seasons. As bad as those seasons were, those Stanford teams were far superior to the ones we've seen in the past two years. Far superior.
