Levin appears to be highly supportive of athletics at Stanford. But if Stanford does not get to 8 wins in the next three years, I don't think he will EITHER deemphasize football OR dump many more millions into the athletic budget over and above what has been added recently. I'm pretty sure he looks at the situation from a long-term perspective and not the short-term emergency some posters think it is. Stanford will keep its options open. If the Power 4 splinters further, Stanford will have to choose which fork in the road to take. In the meantime, Stanford will be making incremental adjustments toward being competitive in the new landscape. From the administration's perspective, football is not one of the top 5 or even top 10 issues.
