Statistics don't mean too much this early in the season against such weak competition, but for what it's worth --

Stanford leads the ACC by a lot in batting avg. (.460), slugging pct. (.813), and on-base pct. (.534).

Stanford ranks just 7th out of 15 ACC teams in ERA (2.66). The main problem with the pitching has been allowing too many free passes. Stanford is not giving up a lot of hits, allowing opponents a batting average of just .174, which is the third lowest in the ACC. But Stanford has allowed more free passes per inning (walks + hit by pitches) than all but one ACC team. In 50 innings, Stanford pitchers have allowed just 30 hits, but have given up 42 free passes (28 walks and 14 HBPs).
