Quote:After nearly 13 years leading one of the most successful intercollegiate athletic departments in the country, Bernard Muir has announced his intention to step down as director of Stanford Athletics at the end of this academic year.
The 2024-25 academic year actually includes summer quarter, which ends September 11. Any chance he really intends to step down after spring quarter, which ends June 19? Just askin' for "a friend"......
well I would be surprised if he was actually working much once the interim AD is named other than in an "advisory capacity". This seems to me more like a move to allow him to get paid through the end of the academic year (either June or Sept) which might make any severance/termination terms less expensive for Stanford. It could also give him a more graceful offramp to his next gig. I would be surprised if he had any real decision making authority after today.
