Actually the University was beyond full. https://exhibits.stanford.edu/stanford-s...ture/1940s Stanford was full of students that were not "admitted" by normal channels. As the article states the military took over the University. The fate of Stanford's (few) Japanese students is also covered. During the war years I seriously doubt admission standards were "normal", as the number of places available to non-military students was not under Stanford's control.
