This strategy might work out but when a team gets momentum and confidence they can be hard to stop.  Why not start Houston in the first game today and see how it goes?  If Stanford would have built up a big lead by the second inning you could have taken Houston out and rested her for the second game if needed.  It would give you two chances at a win.

I've never coached a DI college team to a world series so this is not any criticism.  It's me trying to understand the reasons this is the superior strategy.

FWIW, I feel sorry for Chung. She has lost her control and doesn't know how to regain it. I'm sure she is trying her best so I only have empathy for her.
