Chung was an OFer first two years. Pitched a bit last season. So this was her first year pitching much in games I’d say she improved a lot.
But wow so many walks and hot batters by the staff. On the other hand not that many base hits. 
I thought they all improved. But we knew pitching would be a problem. Houston led the league in Ks

Yes, she did but that is just part of the picture.  Look at FSU, none of their pitchers had as many SO as Houston but the top 3 in terms of innings pitched walked 7, 7 and 13 over the season. Houston also walked 76.  None of the FSU pitchers had Houston's strikeout numbers, but two had ERA's less than 2 and the other and ERA just over 2. We put more than 100 more runners on base for free than FSU. I am sure the staff will be looking for ways to improve these numbers, against the better teams those free passes are going to cost you games.

Need to have a better balance next year. A few more hits for you hope many fewer walks would be a positive trade off.

reducing opposition hits will help if we do not walk so many. We can't have the other team simply willing to stand in there until they get their pitch or they get walked. As I interpret the FSU numbers, few walks, not so many SO but they threw strikes and forced the other team to swing and keep the ball on the ground.  As I recall, and my memory is aging, but Vawter was very good at this one thing, keeping the ball down and forcing lots of ground balls.  Here are the ACC stats, check them out and tell me what you think.
