We were not treated to her singing voice. Just a very early version of her domestic goddess in Salt Lake City bit. She came out in a housecoat and curlers and was well-received. Her line that brought down the house referenced her parenting skills, or lack thereof: "Look...if the kids are alive at the end of the day, I've done my job." Funny because many of us baby boomers grew up in that house.

I lived in Mountain View, easy walking distance from Shoreline when it first opened. We saw lots of acts there, but I remember going to see Santana and the spontaneous methane fires were no rumor. We sat up in the lawn section and there were plenty of people stoned out of their minds with lighters setting fires. So maybe not spontaneous, but easily human aided since the gas was there. It was hilarious. That venue needed some shakedown time between the methane and settlement. Acoustically I think there were neighborhoods in Palo Alto that heard intimate stage details because of the way sound waves traveled over water, somewhat tide dependent. Turns out a lot of my professional life has been wrapped up in that area and shoreline. Little s.

If memory serves, the City of Mountain View had to remove and reinstall the lawn after treating it to eliminate the methane seepage.
