Way too early Somewhat more updated Final prediction for 49ers 2025 roster:
QB: Purdy, Jones, Mordecai (3 2) Check
RB: McCaffrey, Guerendo, James, Robinson Taylor Jr., Kiner (4 5 4) ridiculous number of injuries at this position
FB: Juszczyk (1) Check
WR: Pearsall, Jennings, Robinson, Cowing, Watkins, Gage Gage, Moore (6 4 5- Aiyuk on PUP list, Robinson suspended to open the season) More ridiculous injuries to more skill players. Don't know how or why this keeps happening to the 49ers. Cowing will miss a few weeks, Robinson suspended for first three weeks.
TE: Kittle, Farrell, Dwelley Tonges, Willis (3 4 - outside chance for Tonges and Willis) I think both Tonges and Willis make it given the number of double-tight end sets the 49ers will be forced to run, coupled with RB injuries.
OL: Williams, Puni, McKivitz, Brendel, Bartch, Burford, Zakelj, Pleasants, Colby Hennessy (9) Check. Might have left Zakely off, but I think they need the depth if Puni has to miss 1-2 weeks.
DL: Bosa, Williams, Huff, Okuayinonu, Gross-Matos, Collins, West, Anderson, Givens, Valdez, Elliott, Davis Beal (9, Givens on IR, Gross-Matos on PUP and maybe Elliott). Beal on, Davis off, Givens to IR, back to nine.
LB: Warner, Winters, Martin, Gifford, Bethune, Robinson Surratt (5 6 and hopefully Stanford alum Curtis Robinson who is on PUP list from ACL. I think this will happen)
CB: Lenoir, Green, Stout, Brown, Flowers, Lucas, Neal (5, maybe Luter or Neal. Robinson had a broken forearm in the last game)
S: Brown, Pinnock, Sigle, Neal Grant Grant (4, Mustapha on PUP list. Mahoney looking good)
ST: LS Weeks, P Morstead, K Moody (3 - Greg Joseph in deadlock with Moody)
I wouldn't be surprised if they got rid of Moody. Great week 2, horrendous week three with a missed XP and kicked the ball out of bounds on a kickoff.
