Quick question.  Let’s say you are one of the coaches on that list.  Stanford comes calling.  Why do you take the job?  Or, what could the school do to get you to take the job?  I can’t help but think that the only thing that would get a large share of the coaches on the list to come is a big fat pile of cash that’s probably not worth it.

Job security. You can go a combination of 7-5, 6-6 and 5-7 over eight years and keep your job. Anywhere else you’d be sent to the curb after four years.
