Agreed. I'd like to see a coach that has a track record of winning as a head coach at multiple levels.  No more throwing the dice.

+1. Also, to me, a successful candidate should have recent actual first-hand experience dealing with impacts of the current NIL- and player recruitment/retention landscapes.
