Football families will tend to go see their college athlete sons playing at bowl games.  I doubt there's a set of parents who wouldn't see their kid play a college bowl game.

Anyway, I'd make an effort to go if it worked out.  The real problem this year is that airfare has gone up a lot.  I'm having to book tickets almost a month-plus in advance to get reasonable fares.  Used to be two weeks back in the day...then three weeks.  And this year, four.  With bowl games being announced so close to the games, you're really counting on driving-distance fans to fill seats.
