The WSJ has a yearslong series looking at America’s first 250 years as a nation and this week has some articles on culture, including this one (gifted) about the top 20 songs that defined America.
My only complaints are the lack of a mid-20th century jazz standard (thinking a something from Miles Davis or Louis Armstrong) or Blues (Howling Wolf?), and while I love Moby, I wouldn’t have called Porcelain a defining song of the first 250 years of the US.
