Winning in NCAA Basketball and particularly winning at Stanford saw a sea change during his tenure.  It was a tough gig but he never seemed to get the most out of his player talent which is the same job in every era.  I wish him luck in his new gig and hope it's a fit.

Haase's teams never played up to their collective talent for sure.  But he did do a good job of developing individual talent--several players made the NBA.  Plus there were a bunch of guys like Keefe, da Silva, etc. who got steadily better through their careers.

I'm rooting for Haase to do well in his new job.

I think Haase recruited very well, actually really well. But stumbled a bit in developing and keeping the players. Albeit Stanford being late to the NIL game didn't help him any.  Raynaud being a good example of a player who really blossomed under new Coach Smith, compared to Haase, as the emphasis shifted towards Raynaud focusing more on Defense, which actually expanded his whole game to be a more complete player and made him far more attractive to the NBA.  Unfortunately, I have seen some early similarities of Coach Paye to Coach Haase which I hope are soon banished. Tonight vs LMU being a good opportunity to show the players have developed well this season and are coming together better in team play.
