"Quick release" is a term best applied to Marino's teams in the playoffs. Seventeen years as a starter and he only made it to one Super Bowl. But he does hold some post-season distinctions, particularly being the quarterback of the losing team in the most lopsided game in AFC playoff history.

One of my all time favorite studio moments was when (before Payme Manning won one) Boomer Esiason referred to Manning as the Dan Marino of his generation. The production chief deftly switched to Marino for a reaction shot.  All time greatest display of restrained anger I've ever seen.
