jack3tree… I’m not an economist, but I think the term is “revealed preference”. Even before NIL and transfers, student athletes made decisions to go to “not Stanford” all the time; the degree is valuable, and certainly convinced some kids came here because of it, but we’ve always known there was a finite sum of money that would convince many athletes to forgo their degree; just ask John McEnroe, Tiger Woods, and Christian McCaffrey (I don’t know if any of them have subsequently come back).
