Tech has been the Georgia Institute of Technology since 1948 when it changed its name from the Georgia School of Technology. It is also part of the answer to fairly frequent AFLAC trivia contests during our broadcasts: "What are the five FBS programs without 'University' in their official institutional name."

Georgia Tech is also one of the few Universities with three nicknames, Engineers, Yellow Jackets, Ramblin' Wreck.  The only other one I can think of is Auburn (Tigers, Plainsmen, War Eagle)

Oh, there's the road to Menlo

As plain, as plain can be.
