The middles had some really beautiful hits especially hitting the quick one set and the back one set. When passing and setting settle, the middles will become more dominant which will help the OHs. The OH offense will come. Last night, they were getting a lot garbage sets.
What impressed me the most was Julia’s defense. She was digging balls like she was a defensive specialist. I believe she had 23, maybe more digs. That’s impressive. I’d like to her get set from the back as well.
When Cawa and Rolson came in, the passing stabilized. I hope they are the DS we see from now own. I think KK has been given enough opportunities in her career to claim one of the DS spots but her passing and defense is just not there, in my opinion
- 25 digs for JB in the box score.
- Hard to play Kirsch if that is what her serve reception looks like - 3 errors in only 2 sets. She didn’t serve well either. Cawa and Rolson were better.
- lots of things snowballed together from set 2 on. Serve reception got better. Defense got better especially JB. Setting got a little better. A little blocking. And Wisconsin’s hitting dropped off. It all adds up.
