I must say that after reading this and your Wake Forest thoughts, I agree my analysis of this year is too rosy. While our 2-3 record is at least matching and more likely beating expectations, our complete ineptitude in 3 of our 5 games is really concerning. I think I was wowed by big chunks of competence in two games, particularly in the passing game, and forgot that we have still been unwatchable for 60% of our playing time so far.
Let's see if we can show some improvement in the second half of the year. As you noted, the potential is there on defense. If we can't make progress there, wholesale changes are needed at the end of the season.
