Too late. Three straight BCS bowls and two of them wins and one of them "should have won".
So being ranked lower somehow helps recruiting given the same final won loss record? Basically, being overrated at the beginning of the season is a part of why the SEC has been able to retain its dominance.
Being overrated in and of itself has gotten Alabama to a couple of BCS championships.
