Basketball is a game of runs, during those runs a player can be on the floor, drawing out the D setting screens, making a pass for the next pass to be an assist, moving the ball, doing what they have been told to do which could be getting back on D to stop transitions, those things will never show up on stats. A payer could hit shots, which could be bad decisions and the stat does not show that.
That is my point.
My other point is after every game, especially a loss we can pick on certain individuals. But if you look at the trend of the games it is the lack of adjustments that are hurting us. The beauty of the triangle was that there are many options out of that offense that even if teams adjust defensively we could still get options through smart basketball and ball movement. Our Ball movement is almost non existent. Players are not in the right positions to make it effective. As amber for example dribbles to shots, when they stop falling or she is guarded more closely, why not utilize the fastest weapon on our team Toni to push, drive and kick.
