I'm not an expert AT ALL, but at times last year it looked to me like Hogan was starting his throwing motion from down around his waist.  The ball always ended up with good velocity and accuracy (at least with the short and medium range throws), but I swear it reminded me a bit of Tebow.  If that was not just my imagination, I would guess the coaches would love to get rid of the wind-up, which is bound to cost him some time in getting the ball out of his hand (and if he's bringing the ball down, would seem to make him more vulnerable to getting it knocked out of his hand by a defender).
