Vermont does have some great beer, but it depends a lot on what you're into. If you like hop-forward pale ales and IPAs, then you're golden. Hill Farmstead, Lawson's, and The Alchemist all make excellent versions of that style. Hill Farmstead also makes a number of good Saisons, if you're into that sort of thing.

Hoped to detour through Waterbury on the way back to get some of this nearly impossible to find, supposedly greatest beer in the world (Alchemist's Heady Topper).  Sadly they sold out for the week the day before yesterday!  Vermonters I guess stocked up early to prevent us Bostonians from pillaging through the inventory on a holiday weekend.

I love Saisons!  My favorite being Brooklyn Brewery's Sorachi Ace.  I'm a sucker for anything East meets West.
