The guy who lived in my Twain 2nd floor room the following year hung a Confederate flag visible from Escondido Rd.  I met him and he was self-proclaimed red-neck and proud of it.  I don't know if he was racist or homophobic.  He was nice enough to me, but some racists consider us Asians for practical purposes white.  For example, my mother's cousin visited the Deep South back in the 60s and he was tremendously confused about which water fountain or toilet to use.  He told me that in every case he was allowed to use the "white" facilities.

I'm not sure that's something you should be proud of.
