I did not hear much new material in 2013 that really stuck. I think my favorite discovery was Clairy Browne and the Bangin Rackettes, retro 60s soul. They were great live.

I already have been enticed in 2014 by an LA band called The Record Company.

And I was introduced over the holiday to Valerie June whose recent album was produced by Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys. I love his work and am automatically drawn to any of his projects.
Finally, last week I was thrilled to discover this Tiny Desk concert from Booker T Jones who just may be the coolest musician alive.
