Uneven as hell: The old Beach Boys. So much dysfunction and angst over Brian Wilson's health. Great then awful.
Incredible: Harry Belafonte. No interest in his music but a girlfriend's family insisted on showing me everything worth seeing in LA so we went to the Greek Theater to hear him. What a compelling and souful man.
Not worth it at all: Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. No presence.
Unbelievable: The old Ikettes. The best part of an Ike and Tina Turner show.Â
Maybe this one goes somewhere, too.
I liked the Ramones and George Thorogood live, better than their recorded music.
