Starting at Penn may be better than a life on the practice squad at Stanford.
While I can't speak for Louis Vecchio, for me playing on the practice squad at Stanford would be preferable to starting, continuing or finishing at Penn.

I wonder about that.
I'm the first to say I prefer a Stanford education above all others. And yet...Penn ain't hay. And wear and tear on the body is most likely less at Penn than at Stanford. Based upon my knowledge of several sports, the time commitment at Penn (I suspect including football) is most likely less than it is at Stanford. My son's time commitment at Princeton is about 60% what it would have been at Stanford. And an Ivy degree isn't bad at all.
If it's Stanford vs. fill-in-the-blank-football-factory, well yeah, I get that. But Penn is not a bad decision (I'd prefer Stanford too).Â
And all in all, I'd prefer my kids go where they want to go. And mine wanted to get as far away from me as possible... :-\
