Santa Cruz has some good coffee shops.  My local barista is from there, so I can ask him.

Seascape is beautiful.  When my kids were younger we used to go on a yearly trip in the late summer.  Fall would be better, but school and such.  We've been talking about going back, since it's a good place if you have a two year old and don't want to take a long trip or deal with airports and such.
