Just re-read the Drukarev Rivals story on Wimbush. He said he was planning on going to the Stanford camp to get an offer, but now says he wants to make his college choice by Jume 17, before Stanford's camp.Â
Sounds like someone is advising the kid to play hardball with Stanford, by forcing Stanford to offer before they really wanted. Waiting until the Stanford camp to get an offer is not the ordeal he makes it out to be. Besides, if he really wants to attend Stanford, he must go through the application process, take two AP classes, and be admitted. If I were Shaw I'd stick to my guns knowing that if the kid really wants Stanford he'll prove it by going to the camp. Coaches can't set precedents for recruits pressuring them to hand out offers before coaches are ready.
