As for all-time great Stanford teams, the Seattle Bowl squad gets overlooked because of . . . well . . . the abomination that was the Seattle Bowl. But that team was great on offense and very good on defense, and was "this close" - some might say a dropped TD pass right in the basket by a certain WR against WSU (not I, though, as there were many other single plays that would have turned the outcome of that game) - from playing in the national title game. Seriously.
Ty's "mail it in" prep for the Seattle Bowl - combined with the natural let down of the team being relegated to a lesser bowl than it thought it deserved - combined to sully the legacy of an otherwise tremendous team.
