You never know what is going to stick with an 18 year old. When my kids checked out schools, it was all intuition and what they thought was the feel of the place.Â
One of my kids almost turned against a school because of a single crabby employee at the student housing office.Â
The student who led me on my tour of Stanford was a smiling surfer girl and the one who took my on my Harvard tour was high strung and brilliant. My 18 year old head might have found her to be "overbearing or judgmental". I just know I was freaking cold on that tour and wanted to get inside.
