I tend to view new offers in November as a sign that the Plan A recruit is leaning elsewhere for one reason or another. 

We already have a kicker on board so I don't understand bringing on a second one in the same class, unless maybe there's anticipated attrition among those with remaining eligibility. 

We also already have offers out to a bunch of highly ranked DBs.  Aside from Farrar and the three you mentioned, there have been scattered reports that we had a chance to land Marshall or Taylor.  A new offer to Reid at this point suggests to me that things aren't going as expected in DB recruiting.

However, I'm okay with Beall instead of Bailey or Reid instead of Edwards (hypothetically).  I just want to see Shaw land Wilkins.

DB recruiting is probably fine. You have to realize Hoffpauir is probably gone, carter is probably gone, Lyons could be gone, Whitfield could move back to WR, and Lloyd won't ever play at DB. They need to bring in 5-6 DBs in this current class. Some may have to start next year. And there haven't been any reports linking Taylor and Marshall to Stanford. Taylor announced his finalists and Marshall never even visited or scheduled an official visit.
