Not to be pollyanna, but as I've understood it, Farrar, Edwards, Buncom, and Meeks are Stanford locks.  There hasn't been another DB that has been in that category, so if they want five, and if there are no options other than Reid, a late offer to him makes sense.  Stanford is still trying to land its first ever 5 star CB, so the fact there isn't one lining up for 2015 shouldn't be taken as DB recruiting isn't going well.  To the contrary, Stanford has a real shot at landing four 4 star DBs in the 2015 class.  Has that ever happened?

OTOH, to summarize the DL recruiting situation... just sub 5-4 record for losing nav system and top DL for coffee:
