Every video I have ever seen of that action shows the holder placing the ball down and simultaneously rotating the ball until the laces point toward the target. It is usually a smooth action and happens almost every kick. The fact that our holder seems unable to do this has perhaps put the pressure on the center. It certainly seems that it is easier for the holder.

OK. I googled. Obviously, if it is googleable it must be a thing. But even so, if the snapper misses the placement of the laces, the holder MUST make the adjustment. It should happen only very rarely that the laces are not moved out of the way.
