He revamped his swing in the off-season and his .OPS as of last night was a career-high .962.  Good for him.

Giants would give the Braves of 1913, The Hitless Wonders” a run for their money. Except that the Giants have no Wonders. Absolutely a horrible club at bat, in the field and in the rotation.

They don’t need Farhan they need Merlin.

Correct Slide. The ‘14 Braves were the Miracle Braves who went from last to first starting in mid year. They couldn’t hit either. I forgot that you were a young guy in 1906 and saw a bunch of White Sox games. I believe a teen aged BobbbbK paid for your fare on the EL.

Giants are:

- 28th of 30 in runs scored.
- 29th of 30 in OPS.
- 30th in team batting average.  That's right, dead last.
- 28th in SBs.
- 28th in HRs.
- 23rd in most BBs.
- 20th in fielding percentage.
- 18th in DPs
- 18th in stealing percentage (against)
- 17th in ERA
- 17th in WHIP
- 12th in doubles.
- 10th in most HRs given up.
- 9th in triples.
- 8th in saves (yay, Will Smith!)

By the way, I know 2015 wasn't a great year for the Giants.  But they had the highest team batting average in the league and scored the fourth most runs.  they had the 7th best ERA, going 84-78.  Their Pythagorean record would have been 89-73.

young guy me in comparison.  old-timers like BobbbbbbbK tell me you were great pitching from the 6 foot pitchers box.  he always wondered how you would have done pitching off of a mound with a pitcher's rubber.

Great one slide. Phogge is very well preserved for someone who watched the 1913-14 Braves.

Slater is 1 for 2 with an RBI and a triple.  Fun to watch running the bases, he's got wheels and runs intelligently...

Stanford's Slater continues his torrid hitting with ANOTHER triple and his first home run this year in SFG 13-2 win over Padres.  Season BA is .400, OPS is 1.800.  Probably won't stay that high...

Since June 1, Giants are 15-13. They are only 7 games out in the Wild Card.

While this may be true, the Marlins are the only team below them in the NL standings, and they are actually playing better than the Giants since May, only 4 GB.

The Giants are way outperforming expectations and frankly it speaks very poorly of the NL in general that the Giants are only 10 games under .500 when they really should be more like 20 or 30.

You're right, their Pythagorean w-L record is three games worse than their actual record of 38-47.

After tonight's 10-4 win, Giants have scored 33 runs in three games.  When was the last time that happened?

Slater's getting better.  He was 2 for three with two doubles, two more RBIs and a walk.  Batting average of .500 on the season, .556 SA and 1.375 OPS.

Anyone know what their projected record was this season?  I tried to find something and only saw player projections. I did see something that said the Giants were projected to be the worst team in MLB this season, but with no specific record.

You have to think the worst record in MLB would be good for 100+ losses. As of now, they are on pace for 72-90.
