I think even after the switch to the Princeton it's still the case that Stanford's sets mostly use two posts and three perimeter players. So the 1 is point guard, the 2/3 are basically the same position even though 3 is often called "small forward", and the 4/5 are pretty much the same, although the 5 will more often be in the low post, depending partly on shooting range.

A tall player with guard skills might play 3/4, but that requires learning a lot more since 3 and 4 are so different. Haley Jones could do it as a freshman -- in fact she could play 1/3/4! -- but not everyone is that quick a learner.

I see Brink as a 5 afer watching her play. Slim or not.

Watching Demetre now 7 times in travel ball last two summers I see a clasic 3. She rebounded more as Frosh, more 4, played more outside O and D as a Soph.

Demetre's Team will be playing near me late July but I'll bet on no fans. She plays for Cal Stars like Brink Jump and Jones did. And Ionescu and Moore sister before her.

Of course how they fit in depends some on the other players.

So say it's March 2022, what is our talent-maximizing lineup on the floor?

Jones-PG
Lexie-SG
Demetre-SF
Brink-Forward
Belibi-Forward

I think its more likely to be:

Van Gytenbeek-PG (assuming she has a very good handle and can shoot the three very well)
Lexie-SG
Jones-SF
Brink-Forward
Belibi-Forward

Would have a pretty competitve game against this team of bench players:

Brown-PG (assuming by senior year she has confidence in a jump shot)
Jump-SG
Lacie-SF
Demetre-Forward
Prechtel-Forward

This team could beat the first one if they got hot from the outside.  Not as strong defensively though

They also have 2021 top-50 player 6-4 Emma Calvert. Quite the frontline for a HS team.

I assume Mendelson will decide between volleyball, basketball, or both in college.

Lauren Ware will be doing both at Arizona, and a 2021 just committed to Louisville for both (attends the same school as the potential recruit from SD).

Appears Donovyn Hunter camped at Stanford in 2017 and impressed Tara:

Will play for Cal Stars 17U with Demetre.

Hey Bob... can I make a request?  As recruits commit elsewhere, instead of erasing them from the list, can you just use the strikethrough function to cross them off and put their destination in parentheses.  I think it would be useful to see who we've lost out to.

StanfordWBB (in addition to Kate Paye) has began following Elena Bosgana, the 6-2 SG/SF from Greece. Not sure if she is a 2021 or 2022.

Is Stanford not requiring test scores for 2021, and if so does that mean they can possibly snag an international recruit who would have other wise not passed the required testing needed for admissions?
