54th in the country this year and 104th last year in PPG.  Yes, there has been improvement.  This year I chalk most of it up to Mills leadership and talent as well as improved line play.  I believe Shaw needs an OC that will push him and that's not Tavita.  He's a nice guy and a hard worker, but he and Shaw would both benefit from a change.   They (because they both call the plays) were less predictable this year, but I think we can be better with play calling and in game/half time adjustments.  Don't get me started on clock management and delay of game penalties - that's on the coaches.

PPG is a flawed metric that depends on both pace of play (number of possessions per game) and also starting field position.  This is why I prefer points per possession, or points per possession adjusted for starting field position.

I think there were very few delay penalties this year. And clock management is one of those things that fans always think they can do better than coaches anyway. Frankly I look more at game management. I thought they did a very good job managing games this year

Running the 4-minute offense down 2 scores with less than 6 minutes on the clock at Colorado is inexcusable and cost us an opportunity to win the game. The clock management mistakes are not small, and there's at least one major one every season.

And game management....  Ah, never mind.
