Here’s a graf that jumped out at me:
“The game will also serve as a lucrative payday for only one team. Because this game was originally supposed to be played on K-State’s campus, Stanford will only receive enough money to cover travel costs as agreed upon in the original home-and-home series contract.”

Maybe KState should get more of the payout because it was a Kstate game, but it surprises me and doesn’t seem right that they’d get the ENTIRE payout.

Playing a home and home means a home and home. It shouldn’t mean the home team can sell the rights to play you wherever and however they see fit, for the biggest payout.

I'm not too bothered; we wind up no worse than before, and instead of an away game against a decent but not marquee (i.e., not Texas or Oklahoma) Big12 opponent, we wind up with a neutral site game and more TV exposure.

Our next opponent had quite an up and down season just now.

4-6 overall.
Good Side - beat Oklahoma 38-35, lost to Ok State by only 2 (18-20), won on the road at TCU (21-14)
Bad Side - lost to Arkansas State (31-35), wiped out by WVU (10-37) Iowa State (0-45), and Texas (31-69)
Their best RB was a frosh, Deuce Vaughn with 64 yds/gm at 5.2 per carry. They like him a lot.
They lost their senior starting QB early in game #3. Says he's coming back but will have to beat out the true frosh who took over this past year.
They were 8/10 in the Big 12 in both total offense and total defense by the traditional yds/gm.
Their newish head coach (Bill Snyder retired after 2018) Chris Klieman came from FCS powerhouse North Dakota State. He's gone 8-5, 4-6 in two years.

Although they had already lost to Arkansas State, losing the starting QB really kicked the wheels off the wagon for K-State's season. I expect they'll be better in 2021.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
