Didn’t want to start a new thread, but Sean Miller is out as coach at Arizona.

That deserves it's own thread.  What a scumbag.  Good riddance.

A study in contrasts as the NCAA investigation continues at Arizona and Kansas. Arizona fires its coach. Kansas gives its coach a lifetime contract.

Pay six figures for Deandre Ayton?  . . . . .  Yeah, okay, fine.

Get swept by Stanford?  . . . . .  No bueno.  Adios.

Apparently an extension was considered as well.

Quote:Sources told ESPN that Arizona had been considering a contract extension for Miller but that the board of regents would not approve it because of the ongoing NCAA issues.

The president of the University really wanted to get rid of this coach but several big donors made it abundantly clear that they wouldn't help pay for that or for the new coach. The president then backed down (because he really had no choice) and was looking at an extension. The board being unwilling to go along with such an action may or may not be totally their idea. What happens now and where the money comes from is the question.

And your point is ... ?   :-)

The first happens all the time.  Nothing to see here.

The second?  Man bites dog!

What’s wrong with new threads BC? My garage will never be tidy. Relax.

Nothing per se; I didn't think there would be the interest in a coach firing at a rival to get much follow-up.

I think Haase would be a good hire for them.
