Ok, so we score 31. Still won't be enough.

I'm doubling down on the defense, which I believe has improved since the Arizona game. Growth from the secondary, sure, but Henry Anderson, improved contributions from the backups also lead me to this view.

I think it's more likely that Stanford holds Oregon under 40 than Stanford scores more than 40.

For what it's worth, it's stopped raining here in Waldport about an hour ago.  Weather takes a couple of hours, more or less, to drift east to Eugene.  So, it's possible it will not be raining at Autzen at game time.

Cheers,

Eric

My only prediction is that we're going to win!

I'm not even surprised one bit. But again someone was calling me delusional a while back. Maybe it was you.

Are you clairvoyant, Lefty? You weren't too close on the score (thank you, Stanford D), but you nailed it on the closing play (give or take 7 yards).  :)

Well done Renaissance Man, Leftcoast, bowlorbust, george, and CompSci87. You got the 5 closest scores to the beautiful, remarkable, unforgettable Stanford 17-14 Oregon that we just witnessed.

Well, I basically had it right, except I thought Williamson would miss the game winning FG.

Whatever, I do feel vindicated about my belief in Stanford's defense, and in particular the improved Secondary over the previous two seasons.

Thanks for putting me on the banner.  ;D

I was pretty close on the margin, but just a hair off on the total points scored.

You confidently predicted a Stanford win by a FG or less. That has to count for something!

Aside from the score, the margin of victory, the ability of the Stanford defense, and the victor, I defy anyone to show me anything a hair out of place in my prediction.

I predicted we wouldn't be able to hold Oregon below 40. Woops.

I should never have underestimated our defense: its talent, its speed, its experience, its leadership, its will to win, or its ability to pick up the offense repeatedly. I'm in awe.

Doesn't get a ton easier, though. UCLA up next, and they look very solid.
